DJ Paul & Skinny Pimp Tribute
What up folks??? It's ya boy Dre'matic! Today's post is a tribute to two people that are very responsible for my approach to music as a producer and as a rapper. I can go on for days about these guys' influence on me music wise and personality wise but I'll save that for another time. Anyway, I could have picked any number of tracks to redo but I chose to remake this particular beat because one of my artists wanted to do something with it and not to mention it's one of my favorite tracks of all time. Also, in the previous post of Da Mafia 6ix in the studio before Lord Infamous passed, Paul & Ricky both made it clear that Paul's beats all of a sudden got harder when he got the chance to produce for Skinny Pimp. So without further adieu, here's today's offering. First the classic original ABC's by Skinny Pimp & produced by DJ Paul, then my instrumental remake (minus the Al Kapone intro). (For those who don't know, SMK also produced the one that appeared on Skinny But Dangerous.) Hope you enjoy!

Michael Jackson was a pimp...
This is how I pay tribute to the King of Pop. When I was a lil nigga I used to think Mike was a pimp in the Billie Jean video cuz the sidewalk used to light up when he was on the stroll. Then when I was a preteen we got blessed with Def Comedy Jam and all the young niggas they brought to our attention, one of the coldest of those being A-Town native Chris Tucker. This nigga loved MJ like the rest of us, and--like me--he also thought Mike was a pimp. Reminisce and enjoy... And don't forget to bump the tribute track I produced in honor of his highness.

Da Dream Team - Evergreen's Finest
Okay, it's ya boy Dre' back with another North Memphis exclusive. This junt right here is a project my cousin Poo Poo (aka Quick Tempa) did in memory of Krooked Kingdom member Gangsta Lyn who died in a motorcycle accident. After Gangsta Lyn died, Poo Poo would still hang out in Evergreen over there by Geno's corner store with G-Lyn's brothers and other assorted neighborhood characters. This was around the time I had already moved back to GA but was still sending beat CDs to my kinfolks in the M-Town. This project also features a track or two produced by White Mike, another undiscovered producer based down here in Columbus, GA. In addition to my cousin, the project also features A-Dro, Mac Fetti, Lil North and some more North Memphis/Evergreen niggaz. If you've downloaded any other shit produced by me, you might hear a beat or two that was on another project but don't blame me--I ain't even know these fools was recordin' the shit til it was finished! But you gon' love it I guarantee.

Tales From The Pimp
I'm posting this junt right here cuz my lil brother Big Dunc said so. Aight, this the story... this is like one of the first beats I ever made on Fruity Loops 3 back when I first came back down to Georgia in '01. Didn't quite know the full potential of the program but I was still raw wit it out the gate. Felt like I had a MPC when I first started using Fruity. Every song I ever wanted to sample came to mind but among the very first was the theme to Tales From the Crypt. Loved the show, loved the beat, hope you like mine. Oh yeah, I'm a thousand degrees colder wit this FL8 shit.

Crime Lords - Hustla'z Dream
Aight, I promised it--here it go! The second studio album from the Crime Lords. Production by me, Blackout, and Drumma Boy. By the time we recorded this one, the group was down to the five on the first row of the picture. From left to right: Tyme Bomb (not the same one from Kinfolk Thugs), Mista Dre'matic (me, orange shirt), JaneHead Busser/Black Nazi (shirt off), Poo Poo aka Quick Tempa, and Lil John the Crookit O.N.E. The three on the back row, from left to right: Big Tank, Dirty C, and Mac Tini. Tank and Mac Tini were part of the group Treal when this album was being recorded and do not appear on it but Dirty C was a soloist at the time and did make an appearance. Maybe in the near future I'll post the album from the group Treal called Lost Memphis. That shit go hard and I believe most if not all the production was done by young Drumma Boy (he even rapped on that junt). Bump this shit, it's only a handful of people that even have it...
